Sophia Gemelas

Sophia Gemelas is a queer, narrative-focused cinematographer based in Los Angeles, California. Raised in Central Oregon’s high desert, she grew up immersed in a quiet beauty which blossomed her love for stories of isolation, queer identity, longing, and delusion. She holds a B.A. in Cinema Studies and Journalism from the University of Oregon and an M.F.A. in Film and TV Production with an emphasis in Cinematography from LA’s Loyola Marymount University. She is a Panavision grant recipient and has most recently completed principal photography of her second narrative feature. Her work has screened at many Oscar-qualifying festivals including LA Shorts Fest, BendFilm Fest, and DeadCenter Film Fest.
